At the 25th international sheet metal working technology exhibition in Hanover, EMW Steel Service Centre and SCHÄFER Perforated Metal had their fingers on the pulse of digitalisation. From 23rd to 26th October, the two SCHAFER WERKE divisions presented their entire range of services on their 180 m² exhibition stand.
In the coming digital transformation, the focus will mainly be on how efficiency and automation can be increased. “New and exclusive to our customers is the EMW Portal that bundles all order data together and makes it available at first hand. Here, customers can view all their orders, check quantities of orders ready for dispatch or those already delivered, or access current and past transactions directly via their order numbers. Very soon, collection control will also provide logistics benefits, enabling partial quantity deliveries to be initiated and coordinated. In addition, users will also be able to download shipping documents and test certificates, forinstance, and generate inquiries directly via the portal. This makes the portal, in this form, unique in the steel business so far. As a result, we not only cover the entire process chain for sheet metal processing, we are also taking another step towards digital transformation,” says EMW Steel Service Centre’s Managing Director Michael Mockenhaupt.
